Why I Became A Travel Agent

When I was a little girl, I remember watching Disney movies, and just wanting to... go there. And when I'm watching them now with my own kids, I still do. I want to see lush, green, beautiful woods like snow white ran through, terrified of the Huntsman and the Queen. I want to photograph a tower so tall and old, that the story of Rapunzel herself stemmed right from that very tower. Show me a wild, untamed Ocean like the one Eric and Ariel fought Ursula in, and then take me to that beautiful beach wedding when it's all over. So many amazing stories out there, and every time I think about how much I'd love to see that.

A couple of years ago, I'm doom scrolling. And I see a post, a company is looking for Travel Agents. And I think... heck, why not? I'm smart, I love chaos, I love serving people (and God), and I'd get better deals on traveling myself. It's a win-win. And I LOVED it. 6-7 months later and I was engaged, and loving every second of it. The planning, the trainings, the learning. I couldn't get enough.

Then, like things go when you're young with children, life got a little hectic. We moved across the country, from Great Falls, MT back to our small town in Iowa. We were homesick. And then, we found out baby #3 was headed this way! So, I stepped away from my Travel dreams, and I focused on my sweet baby girl and my wild older boys. And for a few years, I was content with that. Then, just recently, I posted looking for part-time jobs in my area. I reconnected with an agent from the company who hosted me, and now.. here I am. Back in the saddle, re-learning all the things I let slip out of my mind, and gladly taking you all with me.

I'm so glad that you're here, and I can't wait to share tips, tricks, places to visit, and all the things I learn about to help make your travel dreams come true. The best part of my role in your trip? You don't have to worry about a THING! Trouble with a booking or have questions and don't want to call 500 people? I will be transparent - my goal is not to get you the cheapest possible vacation you can have. If that was the way I worked, I would be doing you a great injustice. My goal will be, though, to make sure you know every option, have every amenity you can imagine for a great price, and that you are taken care of and have someone you can trust to help you with any hiccups that might come up.

Travel has a way of changing us, opening our eyes, and creating memories that last a lifetime. Becoming a travel agent allows me to be part of those moments for others. If you're dreaming about your next adventure but don't know where to start, know that you don't have to do it alone.
